About us

About us

RurATechPromotion gGmbH was founded in 2018 by Dr. Samuel Gyadu and Dr. Daniel Duah. Both are from Ghana and have lived in Germany for more than 35 years. The name of the company derives from the core objectives of development promotion.

Rural Areas Technology Promotion

The aim is to promote sustainable social and technological development in rural areas of Ghana and West Africa.

The purpose of the statutes is achieved in particular through the transfer of know-how in the field of efficient organic farming methods for the promotion of sustainable agriculture based on the German model in Ghana and the whole of West Africa. For this purpose, on-site arable land is rented or purchased in order to introduce organic farming methods to local young people and to train them according to the German model. The knowledge learned is to be passed on by the young people in the region in order to enable an improvement of living conditions throughout West Africa.

The harvest from the land managed by the company is directly fed to projects in the fields of healthcare, training, environment, infrastructure and renewable energy.

Our mission:

The creation of infrastructure, sustainable jobs and reliable livelihoods for young people with the aim of stopping or reducing the exodus of the youth from Ghana and West Africa.

About Ghana

Ghana is a state in West Africa. With an area of 238,537 km2, Ghana is one of the "smaller" countries on the African continent.
In total, Ghana currently has about 30 million people living in 16 administrative regions. The  capital Accra  is located in the southwest of the country, directly on the Atlantic coast.
Neighbouring countries include Ivory Coast, Togo and Burkina Faso. The official language is English. Local ethnic groups speak a further 79 different languages and idioms – not without reason Ghana's children usually grow up multilingual. Ghana is one of the largest producers of cocoa and is therefore an important trading partner for the chocolate paradise of Germany.

Relationship to Germany

Ghana has an intensive and close political relationship with Germany as a central partner in West Africa. The inclusion of Ghana in the G20 "Compact with Africa" initiative and the conclusion of a bilateral "Reform and Investment Partnership", which took place in 2017 under the German G20 Presidency, underlines this.

Highlights were the state visit of President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2017 and the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Ghana in 2018.
